A puppy was found tied in a black plastic bag in Transylvania, Romania, in July of 2016. Maggots were eating her flesh and she had a broken leg. She was starving, dehydrated, and had a very severe head injury.
She had been lying there in the summer heat for two days before she was found. The people who found her could not believe she was even still alive. But she barely was, and her road to recovery would be a long one.
She was rushed to Transylvania Animal Care where she was treated for her injuries. Their number one priority was to get the swelling on her brain down, treat infections, and remove the maggots that were eating her flesh.
They decided to name this pup Anora, which means “light.” Her fighting spirit showed that she had a strong determination to live.
Anora made an amazing recovery! She went from not being able to walk at all, to slowly walking, to running! Four months after she was found, she traveled to the United Kingdom, and was then adopted by a loving family in England.
Once she was in her new home, they soon found out that her broken leg hadn’t healed properly and her ulna wasn’t connected to her elbow as it should be. She couldn’t walk properly and was left with a limp and in pain.
Thanks to many kind donations, she was able to have a special surgery last week to fix this problem. She is back home recovering and doing well!
Anora has come a long way from being discarded as trash, but she won’t have to worry about being mistreated ever again!
