10-year-old Aashir Alauddins absolutely adored his new two-month-old kitten named Alley. So when he woke up and realized that his kitty was missing, he frantically started looking for her.
When he went outside, he realized that Alley was stuck in a big tree that was next to his New Jersey home. Without hesitation, Alauddins began climbing the 18-foot tree, despite the fact that it was pouring rain. Alauddins would rescue his beloved kitten if it were the last thing he’d do.
He used a chair to get up into the tree and began climbing, but because it was raining, his foot almost slipped on the way up. He remained brave and determined to get to his cat. When he finally got to Alley, he looked down and realized getting down wouldn’t be as easy as it would to get down.
His mom, Linnette Wheeler, kept telling him to put the cat in his shirt and climb down, but Alauddins was afraid he’d slip on the way down. That’s when his mom called the fire department to get him immediate help.
Alauddins sat in the tree with Alley for 20 minutes while firefighters from the Hackensack Fire Department worked together to get him down.
“Usually it’s a cat up the tree,” Deputy Chief John Ingallinera told Yahoo. “This time it was a child chasing the cat up a tree? Very unusual. We rarely get a call like this.”
Thankfully, both Alauddins and Alley were rescue and unharmed. This just goes to show how much Alauddins truly loves and cares for his kitten!
