When animals are separated from their mother at a young age, it is a huge problem. Baby animas depend on their mothers for food and comfort, just like humans do.
When nine-month-old koala joey, named Shayne, lost his mother after she was hit by a car in Australia, he was left without a sense of comfort.
Rescuers found Shayne clinging to his mother after she was struck. Sadly, she died from the impact.
But now Shayne is in good hands at the Australia Zoo and has found comfort elsewhere — a koala stuffed animal. He clings onto it in the same way he clinger to his mother, and I don’t think it gets any cuter than this! Watch Shayne adapting to his new life in the video below:
