Elizabeth Spence and her husband have five rescue pets and three children. They are huge animal lovers and tend to adopt animals who no one else wants.
One of their rescue dogs, an eight-year-old English pointer named Nora, had a traumatizing past and is now terrified of everything. Everything except for the Spence’s 11-month-old son, Archie.
Now that Archie is a little older, he and Nora do everything together. Nora has found comfort in Archie, and follows him everywhere he goes and does everything he does.
“If Archie is having a batch, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out,” Spence told The Dodo. “If I’m nursing him she wants up on my lap, too. If he’s going through my cupboards throwing all the dishes on the floor, she’ll be there cheering him on.”
One of their favorite places to hang out together is the family’s playroom. You can find them building blocks of relaxing in their homemade ball pit.
Aside from playing together these two peas in a pod also enjoy napping together every day. They never get tired of snuggling or spending time together.
The Spence’s other kids, Wellington and Loretta love animals as well. “We taught the kids from a very young age to respect the dogs and to treat them well, so the dogs trust and love the kids very much and are quite comfortable hanging out with them in any manner.”
The family cats like to get in on the fun every once in a while too!
Although Nora has come from an abusive background, she has found a beautiful friendship and unbreakable bond with her little human.
How could you ask for a better friendship than this? So sweet!
