Last October, the Story family lost their beloved dog, Petra. She was tragically snatched right from the family’s front yard, leaving the family in tears. The family spent months looking for her, following several lost pet and animal shelter websites. However, their search was looking gloom. The Story family over time had lost hope and were looking on the Williamson County Animal Center’s Petfinder website when they noticed an extremely familiar face.
When the family saw a picture that looked exactly like their Petra, they immediately drove from their home in Charlotte, Tenn. to the shelter in Franklin. The family was nervous going into the shelter, but those nerves quickly went away as they reunited with their long lost friend! “We are just happy that the Storys never gave up on Petra, and that a happy reunion took place,” Shelter Director Laura Chavarria told the Tennessean. Chavarria didn’t know where she had been as she was rescued a stray, but that all doesn’t matter anymore! “We are so grateful to have volunteer photographers like Penny Adams that give their time to take wonderful photos of all our adoptable pets. Since Petra did not have a microchip, Penny’s photograph really made this reunion possible.”
The Williamson County Animal Center recently posted on Facebook a picture of Petra with her adorable family. Congrats to Petra and everyone involved on returning this beautiful dog to its’ rightful owner!
