Weddings take a lot of work and effort to plan. From picking out dresses and flowers to venues and favors, organizing your special day can takes months and months. While this Pennsylvania couple was planning their wedding they decided to ditch the flowers and hold something much more significant in their photos: rescue puppies.
Bride Sarah Mallouk Crain works for Pitties Love Peace, a rescue organization in central Pennsylvania. Her and her new husband, Matt Crain, are huge animal lovers and have three rescue dogs of their own, as well as foster dogs, so they knew they had to somehow include dogs in their wedding.
So, rather than have the wedding party hold bouquets of flowers in the wedding photos, they decided to have them all hold rescue puppies who are in search of furever homes. Photograph Caroline Logan snapped the beautiful pictures of the bride and her bridesmaids holding six tiny rescue pups, each with their own story.
The Boxer-Coonhound puppies (Martha, Abigail, Dolley, Elizabeth, and Louisa) were rescued when they were less than a week old. Now they are eight weeks old and are all in foster homes.
The lucky pup who got to pose with the bride is a nine-week-old pit bull mix puppy named Biggie Smalls who was rescued from the streets of Brooklyn, New York. The puppies were all so well-behaved and the bridesmaids were loving all of the puppy snuggles.
The pups were so cute that of course the groomsmen had to get in on the fun as well! The puppies brought joy to an already special day and made everyone laugh and smile without even trying. I think it’s safe to say that holding puppies was a much better idea than flowers.
